September News, Reviews, & Interviews

Events for Muse began with a pleasant book club evening at Book Warehouse (Black Bond Books). This year at Word Vancouver, the driving rain and gale-force winds drove us inside the Vancouver Public Library. I read from Muse in the Blenz coffee shop, a much warmer venue than the Canada Writes tent would have been outside. The first West Coast Bookstravaganza, held in the… Read More

The Italian Cover

A few days ago, I received the cover for the Italian edition of Muse, to be called L’amante del Papa, which means The Pope’s Lover. The cover features the 14th-century gate to the Palais des Papes in Avignon, where Muse is set. Today, I found out the publication date. L’amante del Papa will be published much sooner than I expected, on July 25, 2013, actually a few weeks before the Canadian edition. Newton Compton Editori has done a great trailer for it, which you can watch on the Muse page. Read more

The first reviews of Muse are here

There’s probably a reason Fifty Shades of Grey was published in the month of June and Ulysses came out in February.” Thus spake The Toronto Star in its June 28, 2013 essay, “The Best of Summer Reading,” which included a list of the top 20 books for summer reading. I was very happy to see that my novel, Muse, was on the list and also to read the first review of Muse, by Joan Givner, in the Summer 2013 issue of BC Bookworld. Thank you, Joan, for the nice things you say about my novel. The review is on page 22 of this on-line copy. Read more

August 13, 2013 – my second novel, Muse, will be published by Doubleday Canada

The excitement is building as the publication date for the Canadian edition of Muse approaches. An Italian edition will be published by Newton Compton Editori with the provocative title, L’amante del Papa, followed by a French-language edition from Éditions Hurtubise. I hope to have publication dates soon and a title for the French edition. Can it be any more racy than the Italian one? I’m eager for my first glimpse of the foreign book covers. I’m feeling like a very lucky gal these days. Read more
